tear trough under eye fillers
We are highly experienced in providing safe and effective dermal filler treatment for the under eye or tear trough area.
The tear trough is the under-area of the eye socket that over time tends to hollow and sink back; for many people this can be one of the first areas of the face to show signs of ageing.
We can be more or less prone to ageing in this area thanks to our genetics. This hollowness can contribute to the appearance of dark shadows and may be a cause of frustration when this make eyes look tired even when they're not.
Dermal fillers for the under eye area are made from hyaluronic acid which is naturally present in the skin
A carefully performed dermal filler treatment can rejuvenate this delicate under eye area.
Where the concern is sagging skin in the eye area (rather than hollowing) we can treat this with the non-invasive Plexr plasma treatment, performing a non-surgical eye lift.

what our clients say
I recently had tear trough treatment and Botox through Oxford & Leamington Facial Aesthetics and I am absolutely delighted with the results! I had honestly started to believe that I would never really be able to improve my crows’ feet and the dark circles and hollows under my eyes. I'd been considering tear trough filler for a long time, but I was somewhat nervous about it and therefore anxious to find the right practitioner. From the first point of contact with Rosie and Catherine, I felt I was in safe, professional hands. Rosie really took time to understand what I hoped to achieve (a subtle, natural but tangible improvement in my eye area) and used her skills and careful judgement to make it possible… I'm very glad to have found Rosie and I can unreservedly recommend her service."

what is the best dermal filler product for tear troughs?
We continue to reassess and search for the best available dermal filler products to use in our clinics. Currently, our product of choice for treating the delicate tear trough under-eye area is the award-winning Teosyal PureSense Redensity II.
Redensity II is a biocompatible hyaluronic acid filler which is specially designed and perfectly formulated for use in the tear troughs. It contains a cocktail of 14 essential nutrients (those which are naturally present in the skin) to boost and revitalise skin, as well as anaesthetic to ensure the procedure is as comfortable as possible. We also have some other fantastic dermal filler products in our toolbox which we can discuss with you at consultation. These include Sculptra, which can be extremely helpful where someone has undergone a lot of weight loss in the area or bone density has reduced. Profhilo is another option whereby we treat the full face rather than directly applying to the under-eye, but given the way that the product naturally migrates, for some people it can help improve the tear trough area. |

treatment faq
Are under eye fillers safe?
The tear trough / under eye area are a very important anatomical area, so great care and experience is needed to administer safe corrective aesthetic treatment. When carried out by a practitioner with the necessary knowledge and experience, like Independent Nurse Prescriber, Rosie Cooper, it is a safe procedure. In our Oxfordshire and Warwickshire clinics we only select the most appropriate dermal filler product for the delicate eye area, and the one with the best safety profile.
When can I expect to see results?
You may notice some results immediately after dermal filler treatment. However you may experience initial swelling, and it can take a week or two for things to really settle in this area, which is why we invite you back to the clinic for a treatment review with Rosie at this point so she can review the results.
Is there any downtime?
As with all injections there is a possibility of localised bruising at the injection sites, this is an entirely normal response. There may be some initial sensitivity and swelling in the area. Since the under eye area is a vascular one, it is an area more prone to bruising. That being said, you may not experience those reactions. We will assist you with advice for before and after treatment, to help you minimise downtime as far as possible.
How long do tear trough fillers last?
Dermal fillers are not permanent and results will naturally wear off over time. How long a dermal filler product lasts does vary according to the individual and is affected by environmental factors. Part of the reason we prefer Teosyal Redensity II is because it is one of the best dermal filler products available for longevity. As a guide, we would expect the product to last for c. 9 months and around this point you would need to return for further treatment to maintain the results.
