Dermal fillers for lines and volume

Dermal fillers can offer a huge range of benefits for anti-ageing, from filling deep-set and static lines, sculpting and lifting facial features, to increasing volume where it has been depleted in certain facial areas. At Rosie Cooper Aesthetics, we only use the highest-grade, clinically-proven dermal fillers, rich in hyaluronic acid, for safe application and superb results for our patients.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances which come in a variety of thicknesses. They contain hyaluronic acid, which is a natural sugar found within the body. We renew our hyaluronic acid (HA) within ourselves, every week, however, as we age, the levels of our HA deplete, leading to lines, wrinkles and dry, dehydrated skin. By injecting specific facial areas with HA, we can fill static lines, deep-set crevices, lift facial features, sculpt and build volume in areas where it is lost, in the face. The possibilities are endless, from a simple lip enhancement, to plumping the cheeks and filling out the temples.

How do dermal fillers differ from Botox®?

Dermal fillers physically augment the skin tissues and sit, innately within various layers of the skin, depending on where they are injected. They are completely different to Botox®. Botox® is a neurotoxin, which relaxes facial muscles, dermal fillers plump, hydrate and lift the skin tissues. This is why dermal fillers won’t assist with dynamic wrinkles as Botox® does, but with rather fill static lines and furrows, which tend to be deeper-set and even visible when the face is at a resting expression. Botox® will not add volume or hydrate the skin, whereas dermal fillers can do both, due to the HA within the product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I suitable for dermal fillers for lines and volume at Rosie Cooper Aesthetics?

Before any injectable treatment is carried out, here at Rosie Cooper Aesthetics, we will ask that you attend a no obligation consultation and facial analysis. This will give you the opportunity to speak with your practitioner about what really bothers you about your face, so they can make an informed decision on whether dermal fillers will be an effective solution for you. Your practitioner will also check your medical history, to make sure you are medically fit to undergo a dermal filler treatment. If you and your practitioner are then happy to go ahead with the treatment, you can book your appointment.

What happens during a dermal filler treatment?

The area/s you are having treated will determine the type of dermal filler used, the anaesthetic required, the techniques used and the tools to carry out the procedure (a needle or a cannula). Your practitioner will explain, in your no obligation consultation, whether a pre-treatment topical or injectable anaesthetic will be required and how the product will be placed in to the area of concern, so you understand fully, what to expect.

Is there any downtime with dermal fillers?

As with any treatment involving a needle or cannula, you might experience some swelling, light bruising and tenderness in the treatment area. However, this is not ‘clinical’ downtime (where you need to rest and recuperate at home for a period of time). That being said, you may wish to relax for the evening after your filler treatment and will be given some aftercare protocols to follow, such as avoiding strenuous exercise, hot baths, saunas and steam, as well as the use of certain pain relief such as ibuprofen, following your treatment. All aftercare will be discussed at your pre-treatment consultation. It’s worth remembering that any swelling or bruising may take a few days to a week to subside, therefore timing your treatment correctly, before a special event or holiday is recommended.

When will I see results from my dermal filler treatments?

In general, most results can be seen straight away, but you will need to take in to consideration any swelling and / or bruising. We generally advise to wait 2 weeks, before expecting optimum results. It is at this time you can return to the clinic for a review appointment.

How long do the results from a dermal filler treatment last?

This is the magic question we get asked regularly here at Rosie Cooper Aesthetics and the simple answer is that it depends on the indications treated, your individual response to the dermal filler product (how fast your body metabolises HA) and certain lifestyle factors. If you smoke, exercise excessively, sit in the sun regularly and generally don’t take good care of your skin, the chances are that you may have to return to the clinic sooner than if you didn’t make these choices. Your expected results however, will be discussed with you at your initial consultation.

What our clients say

Rosie has simply changed my life. Her expertise and attention to detail have not only visually transformed my appearance but have equally given me back my confidence.

From the first conversation with Rosie I felt reassured that I would be given the best treatment. However I never expected such exceptional aftercare too.

I had a deep scar and the treatment results have reduced me to tears. There is no hard sell, just professional advice delivered in a caring and calm environment.

My advice is to book a consultation with Rosie. You too can then share your positive experience and transformations.”

Evette, Warwickshire

Rosie always listens carefully to what I think I need, before she makes any suggestions. She has introduced me to new products by giving me her honest opinion and I have always been thrilled with the result.

I’ve been to another practitioner in the UK and one in South Africa, but Rosie’s expertise is beyond compare.

– Ms S, Oxford

I cannot thank Rosie enough for the healthier and younger looking image that I now have; my confidence and positive outlook have soared along with my looks.

I am so thrilled with Rosie’s work that I would never dream of letting another practitioner touch my skin – her results are nothing short of miraculous!

– JJ, Warwickshire

To me, the results already look like a transformation – in the subtlest way of course. I love the fact that my eyebrows have lifted, and I love the new pout. I never thought I would do this kind of treatment – I thought I would age gracefully without help! – But I’m so happy I did.

– Rachel, Oxfordshire

Once you’ve been to Rosie, I can assure you, you’ll never want to go anywhere else for treatments ever again. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone who wants to look more vibrant and confident.
