We offer the reversal and correction of dermal filler procedures at Rosie Cooper Aesthetics.
Sometimes, the results of a dermal filler procedure might not be what we had hoped for. There may be an undesired result or an overly filled area, especially in the lips or cheeks. It may just be that we change our minds about the procedure as a whole, even if the results are good. In cases such as these, we offer the reversal and correction of dermal filler procedures, here at Rosie Cooper Aesthetics, in Leamington Spa and Oxford. As someone who has carried out thousands of safe dermal filler procedures during her career, Independent Nurse Prescriber, Rosie Cooper applies her 15 years’ expertise in dermal fillers to also assist her patients, when they are no longer happy with the results of a previous treatment.
Dermal fillers can be dissolved by the expert use of a substance called Hyalase (Hyaluronidase). Hyalase acts on the hyaluronic acid (HA) contained in the dermal fillers which may have been incorrectly applied or over-applied. Over the course of a few days, after a treatment with Hyalase, you will notice your dermal fillers reverse and the results to go back to your natural-looking appearance. If after this treatment, you require another dermal filler treatment, more fitting for your requirements, you can do so.
There is some confusion surrounding treatment with Hyalase and some patients think that they are going to be permanently affected and their natural HA will be dissolved for good. The truth is that we renew our natural HA on a weekly basis, so even though our own stores might be temporarily dissolved by Hyalase, this won’t be the case in the long term. Many patients might feel as if they are looking less youthful and their skin may seem less hydrated, however, it is more likely that they are seeing their faces in their more natural state. Further, more subtle treatments can be applied, once the previous filler is removed, to replenish the skin and give a more natural-looking beauty to the face and complexion, if you so wish.
Before this treatment can be carried out, here at Rosie Cooper Aesthetics in Leamington Spa and Oxford, we will need to carry out a patch test, to ensure there is no allergic reaction to the product. We will also assess the areas you would like treated, as well as checking your medical history. Once we are satisfied that a treatment using Hyalase will be safe and effective for you, you can book your appointment for the procedure
Allergy to Hyalase, pregnancy or breastfeeding, history of serious allergy, anaphylaxis response, allergy to bee or insect stings.
Results can start to be seen from a few days to 2 weeks, following the procedure. After 2 weeks, we will ask that you return to the clinic for a review appointment and to discuss any corrective treatment, using dermal fillers, if required.
