At the start of year The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) – the world’s largest association of facial plastic surgeons – released the data from their annual survey. It showed that looking unnatural is a top fear for many when it comes to cosmetic interventions - people increasingly want to look good without others thinking they've 'had something done'.
Your Guide to Non-Surgical Treatments for the Neck
For many years it was a real challenge to combat signs of ageing like wrinkles and sagging in the neck area.
Both women and men come to us with concerns about the neck, and there are some concerns common to both. Many complain about the appearance of the ‘double chin’ – or the submalar fat pad profusion – to give it it’s more scientific name.
Others wish to improve excessive lines and wrinkles, as well as thinning, more crepey skin over the front of the neck. Bringing our attention upwards from the neck, many of us face the onset of sagging jowls and the jawline area.
The good news is that nowadays, developments in aesthetic medicine mean that so much can be done to address these concerns and make natural improvements to the neck, without resorting to invasive cosmetic surgery.
Here we give a quick guide to the fantastic options we offer in our Oxfordshire and Warwickshire clinics.
Rosie Reports on her Trip to IMCAS 2017 in Paris
I’ve just returned from what turned out to be a wonderful long weekend in Paris for the IMCAS Annual World Congress 2017. The International Master Course on Aging Science sees aesthetic practitioners, cosmetic surgeons, and dermatologists from all over the globe meet to share their knowledge.
I must start this summary with a confession, though, as I was experiencing some feelings of trepidation leading up to this world renowned aesthetics conference. I suppose I was having a moment of wondering ‘what on earth can little old me matter in an arena of so many giants?’
On the first day of the conference I realised that I needn’t have worried. Having made the 20 minutes or so walk from the hotel, miraculously avoiding falling on the sheet ice of the Parisian pavements, I entered into a friendly reception and within minutes had the most pleasant surprise of bumping into a friend and colleague I hadn’t seen for a long time. Said friend and colleague turned out, very happily, to be a recent recruit to my favourite brand and product, Profhilo, made by IBSA, the Italian hyaluronic acid experts.
Introducing Profhilo - A Dermal Filler Alternative
In case you haven’t heard yet, Profhilo is an innovative alternative to dermal filler which may be best described as a ‘skin bio-remodeller’. The revolutionary idea behind this product is of ‘curing wrinkles rather than filling them’, since it stimulates your natural production of all types of collagen and elastin.
This breakthrough product has been making waves, both among our clients and gaining recognition in the wider aesthetics community. In October 2015 the product was awarded the international Anti-Ageing and Beauty Trophy for ‘Best Skin Enhancement Device’ at the Aesthetics & Anti-Ageing Medicine European Congress in Paris. This year the product has made the shortlist for two categories in the Aesthetics Awards 2016: Product Innovation of the Year, and Injectable Product of the Year.
See How the Profhilo Treatment is Carried out with Care at Oxford & Leamington Facial Aesthetics
A number of people have contacted us to discuss the Profhilo treatment but they have raised concerns about whether the procedure is painful, having seen a video on YouTube which shows the procedure being carried out with a cannula and looking fairly uncomfortable.
For this reason especially we wanted to create our own video to show how the procedure is carried out in our clinics with a real client, and it reflects the experience of our clients with our Clinic Founder and sole practitioner, Rosie, and with this particular product. The procedure is quick, comfortable and generally leaves you mark-free and without swelling following treatment. See for yourself in our video below….
